How iWind is organized

The iPhone app manages your account, profiles, spots, and settings. Apple Watch keeps the wind, radar, and forecast tools close when you are outside.

Tempest account access

Your subscription gives you access to Tempest network spots, favorite profiles, forecast models, radar, and more.

Sign in with the same Tempest account you use for Tempest lifestyle apps.

iPhone

Manage on your phone

Use iPhone to sign in, manage profiles, add spots, search nearby locations, change units, and open Getting Started again from Help.

Watch

Check conditions fast

Apple Watch shows your selected profile and spots, current wind, forecast charts, radar, and key settings synced from iPhone.

Android?

I don't have any Android/WearOS equipment to test the app. Without the equipment I can't build a reliable product.

General

What account do I use?

Use the same Tempest account you use for Tempest lifestyle apps.

Do I need a Tempest account?

Yes. A free Tempest account is enough to sign in. Your iWind subscription unlocks iWind features.

What does the subscription include?

Your subscription includes access to Tempest network spots, favorite profiles, forecast models, radar, and more.

Some Tempest spots are only available to upgraded (paid) Tempest accounts. While that is a separate Tempest subscription, you still have access to thousands of spots with a free account .

iPhone

How do I add a profile?

Open Profiles, tap the add button, name the profile, then save it.

How do I add a spot?

Open a profile, tap the add button in Spots, search for a location, select a result, then add it to the profile.

How do I change units?

Open Settings and choose your distance, wind, and temperature units.

How do I see Getting Started again?

Open Help and choose Getting Started. You can also start the phone or watch tour from Help.

How do I find radar?

Open radar from the spot view using the cloud and lightning button.

How do I find forecast charts?

Open forecast charts by clicking on a spot. Some spots come with multiple charts so you can compare available forecast models. If more than one chart you can scroll to see the others.

Why does watch data look stale?

There are multiple reasons this can happen.

The most common reason this happens is due to the spot not being updated recently. The weather station data update timelines vary by location and equipment. Some spots update every 5 minutes while others update once a day. It is also possible that the spot is completely offline but not reporting such.

Ensure your device is connected to the internet.

Ensure you are signed in to the app on the phone and your phone and watch are nearby long enough to sync.
